What started out as a rear patio addition to protect the home from the western sunshine ended up being the defining element of the home. Patio additions to low horizonatal Ranch style homes are always to low and squat robbing the interior of natural daylight. On this addition, we punctuated the roof plan with trellis elements nad skylights to bring the glow in without the heat. The Modernist aesthetic was inspired by the late, great Al Beadle, one of Phoenix’s finest architects.
