Phoenix Home and Garden
November 2009

This classic Farm House is built in the core of the North Central Phoenix neighborhood which was once noted for the large farms that supplied produce for Phoenix’s growing population. The style of the home harkens back to a simpler era when porches were used to expand the living space of the home and cool the interior spaces. The home combines the opposing tastes of the couple which are traditional for the husband and contemporary for the wife. The couple also wanted some fun features in the home. We accommodated their desires with disappearing book shelves that reveal a home library and study. Additional features include a guest bed that rolls out of the wall of the second story study and a dog wash in the garage-fitting for the Owner who is a Veterinarian. The focal point of the entry is a two sided fireplace that both greets visitors and separates the living room for the degree of privacy that the Owner wished for.
